Sometimes genealogy happens in the present. Today's such sample is a recent short note in the local newspaper about my switch to a new position as a Math Instructor at the college I work for.

FAMILY NAMES

Surnames broken down by my grandparents...

Thompson Family Line begins with my grandfather Clark Minard Thompson and contains the surnames: Thompson, Friedberg, Kuiper (Cooper), Vanderklok (van der Klok), Vandermade (van der Made), and others.

Erickson Family Line begins with my grandmother Evelyn Thorst Erickson and contains the surnames: Erickson, Coleman, Comfort, Covell, Pierce, and others.

WELCOME

This blog was created to share the results of years of research on my family history. My ancestors range from some of the earliest arrivals in North America in the 1600s to immigrants in the mid- to late 1800s; from soldiers in the British colonies to accused horse thieves in Texas; from those who knew only common folk to those who knew the likes of Chief Justice John Marshall, Sam Houston, and Stephen F. Austin.
